ACOG Junior Fellow Half-Day Program
The ACOG District XII Junior Fellow Advisory Council hosted the first annual Junior Fellow Half-Day program at the 2016 Annual District Meeting. The half-day program has been designed to engage District XII Ob/Gyn residents and recent graduates who have yet to become ACOG Fellows and cover meaningful topics such as: financial management, insight to oral and written board review courses, fellowships and alternate Ob/Gyn pathways, transitioning into practice, advocacy and much more.
ACOG Medical Student Skills Session
The Medical Student Session has been designed to provide med students with an introduction to the specialty of Ob/Gyn. The first part of the session will include a special presentation that outlines the training process, fellowships, and career tracks available after medical school. Medical students will have the opportunity to candidly ask questions to a panel of representatives from each of Florida's residency programs. The session will conclude with a variety of hands-on skill stations that will allow med students to actively participate and simulate many of the daily activities of an Ob/Gyn.
The 1st Annual GME Welcome Reception and White Coat Ceremony
On June 28th, 2017 we welcomed 41 new residents to UCF COM HCA GME Consortium-North Florida Regional Medical Center! This was a very exciting time for the residents, as they had the opportunity to meet with executive leadership, mingle with other residents across specialties, and partake in some very tasty hors d’oeuvres. They are ready to get to work, as you can see!
UCF COM/HCA GME Consortium First Annual Research Forum
Our first annual research forum was held April 20, 2017. Medical students and residents from various residency programs presented their research. Submissions were considered for case findings and clinical research with awards given for the best Oral and Poster presentation in each category. Chuck Klodell, M.D., our Medical Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery, was the guest speaker. We are very excited with the success of the event and will be continuing the tradition next year.
